Bengali Version
You touched me with lilting music in your voice,
Love trickled like nectar on my body, my soul,
Oh, if you could rouse the same passion in my mind,
When you touched me ...

The throbbing notes of your flute made this flower bloom,
What made you close your eyes, you couldn't see it wither?
Alas, what have I lost, my heart is so empty?
What was it you craved that you dared not take by force?
Yet you just touched me so? ...

You held me in your arms just once, then ran away,
Were you hurt, your pride crushed to million pieces?

Didn't my spirit swell with ecstasy and longing?
I glanced at you, yet your thoughts were a mystery;
You came to rouse my heart to exquisite rapture,
Then why didn't you strike it hard and set it alight,
Shatter the stony, icy silence for ever?
You just paused to touch me and go!
